Lufkin Chestnut Branch
The Chestnut Branch is our newest location opened January, 2011. This beautiful bank is located in the high traffic area between Timberland Dr. and Denman Ave. We provide five drive-thru lanes including a commercial lane and a 24 Hour ATM. The Bank President, Sharon Modisette has been providing services to Lufkin and Angelina County since 1985 and will oversee both Lufkin locations. The Lobby Service Manager is Martha Sanchez and she has been taking care of banking customers since 1995. Along with the convenient location, we promise to provide excellent customer service.
Founded in 1882, Lufkin, Texas was little more than a clearing in the forest. Located at the intersection US highways 59 and 69 Lufkin is in the heart of the Piney Woods of East Texas. Named for Captain Abraham P. Lufkin, a Galveston cotton merchant and city councilman, Lufkin grew because of its closeness to the railroad and the extensive lumber industry in the surrounding area. The largest industrial employer, Lufkin Industries was founded as a hometown company in 1902 and has achieved worldwide fame for its oilfield pumping units. Lufkin emerged in the 1970's as a regional trade center and developed a significant tourism and convention economy, largely because of the proximity to Sam Rayburn Reservoir and hunting lands.
